When departing from Chicago Midway International Airport there are a few things that are good to know.

Transfers to Midway International Airport

Rental Cars – The rental car facility is located close to Midway airport and this is where you return your rented vehicle unless otherwise instructed by the rental car company. Complimentary car rental shuttles transfer travelers to the airport terminal every 15 minutes 24/7.

Buses – Arrive and depart at Midway Transportation Center which is connected with the terminal via an enclosed walkway.

CTA provides bus lines between the Loop and the airport. They operate from around 4.00-5.00AM to around 1.00-1.30AM depending on the day of the week and the direction of the journey. Fares can be purchased directly on the bus in exact change or via the Ventra system. Ventra Vending Machines can be found in various locations throughout the city.

Pace provides seven bus lines between Chicago suburbs and the airport. Fares are purchased with a contactless credit card or in exact change in fare boxes on the bus, or via the Ventra system. See more about buses to and from Midway Airport.

Shuttles and Private Transfers – There are several types of shuttles and private transfers at Midway Airport, these include hotel shuttles arranged by various hotels, airport parking shuttles and rental car shuttles. They arrive in various locations at the terminal.

Regional Buses – There are different bus companies offering services to the airport from some of the neighbouring states.

Taxis – There are many different taxi companies that will transfer travelers to the airport. Which company that suits you best depends on where you are transferring from.

Trains – The Orange Line “L”, the Chicago Transit Authority train system, runs from the Loop to Midway airport from early morning until after midnight. Fares are purchased in machines at the station of departure.

Parking at Midway International Airport

There are several options for parking at Midway International Airport with a total of 164 parking spaces. Signs on the road approaching the airport will guide to the different parking areas that vary from short to long term, and from economy to more. As you are within 2.5 miles of the airport you can tune into 1630 AM for information about availability.

The Economy Garage, the Economy Lot and the Daily Lot have complimentary shuttle buses transferring travelers between the parking area and the terminal. Make sure to remember which bus stop you board the bus at.

The Terminal Parking Garage is adjacent to the terminal building with hourly parking on Level 1 and Daily on the other levels.

Two EV, Electric Vehicle, charging stations can be found in the Economy Garage and one in the Cell Phone Lot.

Parking fees are calculated on actual time parked. Disabled Accessible Parking is available in all the different parking areas. Parking is available on an hourly or a daily basis.

Drop off and Pick up is allowed outside the terminal concourses, but vehicles may not be left unattended.

The Cell Phone Lot located a few minutes’ drive from the terminal provides a place for greeters to wait for travelers to be ready for pick up.

Departing from Midway International Airport

Once through the TSA security control all travelers have access to the three Concourses as they are all connecting in the Central Market.

Unlimited and free WiFi internet connection is available throughout the airport before and after the TSA security control. Turn on the WiFi function on your and select either “Boingo Hotspot” or “ _Free_MDW_Wi-Fi” in the list of available networks. Once your browser is launched you will have to watch an ad.
