Flight Arrivals at Chicago Midway Airport

When arriving at Chicago Midway Airport on a domestic flight all three Concourses are available to the traveler. When arriving at the airport on an international flight travelers must go through customs. Travelers in transit arriving on an international flight might have to go through the security control to re-enter airside, while travelers in domestic transit with two different airlines are requested to consult with their airlines for details. Travelers in domestic transit on the same airline may stay airside until their connecting flight departs.

CTA provides bus lines between the airport and the Loop in central Chicago. They operate from 4.00-5.00AM to 1.00-1.30AM depending on direction and if it is a weekday or weekend. Fares can be purchased directly on the bus in exact change, or through Ventra accounts at Midway Transportation Center or in various locations in the city.

Shuttles and Private Transfer – There are several types of shuttles and private transfers servicing Chicago Midway Airport, these include hotel shuttles arranged by various hotels, airport parking shuttles and rental car shuttles. They depart and arrive at various locations.

Food and beverage at Chicago Midway Airport

There are many options of places to eat and drink at the airport, all on airside, for both departing (domestic and international) and arriving (domestic) travelers. The eateries are located throughout the Central Market and all three Concourses with options for vegan, vegetarian and gluten friendly dietary needs.

Shopping at Chicago Midway Airport

All shops at the airport are located on airside in the Concourses or the Central Market. There are no duty free shops at the airport.

Chapel at Chicago Midway Airport

The chapel is a peaceful oasis to visit before or after your flight (unless arriving on an international flight). It is located on the Mezzanine Level in Concourse C, above the triangle food court.

Layovers at Chicago Midway Airport

There are no sleeping facilities at the airport for connecting travelers, although if a flight is cancelled and the traveler find they have to spend the night at Midway Airport CDA, the Chicago Department of Aviation, will provide the traveler with a Passenger Amenity kit including essential toiletries to make the unplanned stay a little more comfortable.

Midway airport has a total of 164 parking spaces, 6 of those are on the Cell Phone Lot a few minutes’ drive from the airport’s main entrance. This is where greeters may wait for arriving travelers to be ready for pick up.

Passengers may be picked up and dropped off on curbside outside the Concourses, but vehicles may not be left unattended. An unattended vehicle will be ticketed and towed at the expense of the owner.
